Budapest is proud to host the 7th Plone Conference in 2009. This is the first time that the conference will be held outside the USA and Western Europe. Hungary is a member state of the European Union and because of its geographical position and history, it also maintains connection to other Eastern European countries, as well as to member states of the former Soviet Union.

We wish the conference to be a gateway to Eastern Europe for Plone and the Plone Community. We count on the participation of developers, users, and SMEs from the region. To attract participants from these countries, we offer a lower registration fee than in the previous years. In addition, the Open Society Institute offers Participation Grants to conference participants, with a special attention to travelers from the Eastern European region.

We also make the conference enhanced with an Open Space session, which, for the first time in Plone Conferences, will accompany the traditional presentations, allowing a deeper interactive involvement of the conference participants to the program. We also support community programs for the evening, to make the event truly remarkable for all present and future members of the Plone Community.
