Introduction
While Plone Conference 2009 will be extremely inexpensive for a technology conference, we recognize that cost can be a barrier to participation for some attendees. Therefore, we're pleased to announce that, thanks to the generous support of Open Society Institute, we will be able to offer over 25,000 EUR in financial support to ~90 conference attendees through Plone Conference 2009 Participation Grants!
Participation Grants will cover the 150 EUR conference registration fee and partially subsidize travel expenses.
Applications are open from July 28th and due by September 5, 2009.

We are currently researching alternatives to PayPal for people in countries that PayPal doesn't serve. We'll announce more details here soon.
Selection Criteria
All Participation Grant applications will be reviewed by a grant committee consisting of representatives from the Plone Conference 2009 organizing team, the Plone Foundation and Open Society Institute. In the (likely) event that we have more applicants than our resources will support, we'll consider the following criteria in awarding grants:
-
Plone community participation, leadership and contributions
-
Involvement in translation and internationalization
-
What are you doing with Plone?
-
What do you hope to gain from attending Plone Conference 2009?
