Practical information on what to do in case of an emergency
Don't Panic
While we in no way anticipate there being any cause for concern, emergencies, like fire, can happen any time, unexpectedly. Your safety is our primary concern and we take all safety matters seriously. Please take note of the information below:
At the Conference
In the event of an emergency at the University, please remain calm and proceed immediately to the nearest emergency exit. Emergency exits are clearly marked with the standard European signage depicting a white figure on a green background. Once you are clear of the building, it is important that we all gather in a central location to make sure that everyone is safe. The emergency meeting location is in front of the main entrance, which faces the river, and as far away from the building as possible without going into the street. Once outside, look for Spanky™ or Balazs for further directions.
If this turns out to be an untenable location (smoke, firetrucks, angry bees, etc.) proceed north (against the direction of flow of the river) along the road and meet in the parking lot that is across the first street. So, to be clear, if you were to come out of the main entrance, turn left and cross the first street into the parking lot. Remember: this is ONLY if the front of the building is not a viable place to meet.
Out & About
If you are outside of the Conference and run into trouble (lost, locked out, stranded, sober, etc.) do not hesitate to contact Spanky™ by calling or texting +36 70 292 8383. You can call this emergency phone any time, day or night and we will do our best to help you. If it is past 2am, please be sure to have an actual emergency and not just a question about which beer goes better with the local sausage!
